Some days you get stuff done. Some days you don't. This is especially true when dealing with technology, I've found. It's really strange. You look at a new piece of technology and think "wow! That will save a whole lot of time for me!" So you purchase it and proceed to start to install it. What initially seems like a couple of hour process becomes two weeks and it's still not done.
This is how I'm feeling about some of the upgrades we're currently doing to our system. I have set the deadline for one project to be the end of the week. Of course, this is the day that the developers inform me that they are rolling out an upgrade to the system. Great in the fact that it's getting upgraded BEFORE it goes live and can interfere with things if it gets screwed up. But bad in the fact that we were SO CLOSE to being done. Now there is new functionality and all the pages have to be checked again before we can go live. Sigh.
I keep reminding myself that once this is done, it will be infinitely better than what we have now. I try to pay attention to the things that ARE getting done rather than the ones that aren't. I plan for the next step and do my research as I await the result of the upgrade.
One foot in front of the other. One step at a time. I cannot go faster. That is the nature of the physical world. When I run, I trip and fall. Best to keep up a brisk walk and when the path is blocked for a day or two, sit and enjoy the landscape. Acceptance is key.

Kelle- Aren't your opening lines the truth! I always remember the saying "haste makes waste" when I want to rush things. That being said, I have my own technology nightmare I really, really would like to be done with. So I feel your pain! Take care. Here's wishing you a speedy completion.
