Need new hosting company

My hosting company (Readyhosting) is terrible.  They recently informed me that the email I've been missing getting in and all of the emails of mine that have not been delivered for the last three weeks is not their fault (despite the fact that the other account servers are many and varied and they are the only common denominator in the issue and despite the fact the their entire email server crashed and crashed hard last week putting me and all of their other clients without email for two days).  Sadly, this is not the only problem I've had with these people.

I need a new hosting company.  Any suggestions?

Comments

I am also always looking to upgrade and make my online presence better.  The web site we use is hosted by one company.  If we chose to change websites we also need a new host , because you cant take the site with you.  I seem to be research and research and getting no where. I just dont know whether to stick with what we have , which isnt bad, but does it make us stand out and be noticed.  I am interested in what other comments you receive and I will keep checking back.

Take a look through the blogs in the website groups. There are so many suggestions available. There should be one in there that you would be happy with.

Darcy:  You can't take the web site with you in many instances, but you do own any content that you wrote.  All you have to do is to right click and highlight the text and then paste it to a word document or into another web page.

My site is a template site hosted by Homes.com.  The good, the bad and the ugly for homes.com starting with the ugly is that I don't trust their web design people.  I've talked to some good ones and to some that I knew more than.

The Bad is that some of their template stuff isn't totally SEO friendly.  Nothing serious, but I'm the kind of person that even if it's broke just a little, I still want to fix it.

The good is that they are readily available to help you and offer a great infrastructure.  The other day they had six servers go down at the same time.  I was afraid that I was hosed!  But they had it set up right with redundant backups and I was back up in a couple of hours.  Hope that helps.
