Over 82% of buyers start their search on the web. What do they see when they hit your site? Is there anything compelling other than your listings? Do you have a tool to get people to identify themselves? Do you have any tools, information, videos, etc. that would make your site one that people would return to over and over again? Is there any reason for someone to forward your site or information to someone else?
If your answer to the majority of these questions is "no", then you are missing out on a lot of business. You need help - now. When I got started in real estate in 1993 the internet didn't even really exist for all practical purposes. I didn't have email and I didn't want it. Now, the internet has replaced almost every other major tool for buyer searches. In 1993 I had the luxury of ignoring the internet. Today, if you take the same approach, you may be out of business.
I've spent the last four years runnning an internet-based business. I know what it takes to improve your SEO rankings, increase the number of hits to your website, improve conversion rates, and - most importantly - I know how to create a relationship with your potential client long before you ever speak to them personally.
Over the course of six weeks, we'll walk through the process of creating the changes to your website that will improve your overall rankings, your conversions and your business.
Week 1
Baselines, Tests and Creating Your Compelling Offer
Before we get started on sending more business to your site, we're going to work on mining more of what you already have. So this week we'll be working on creating a "compelling offer". Each student will be tasked with creating one white paper to contribute to the group. At the end, all students will get all of the white papers and will begin testing them to see which ones work best.
We'll also get you signed up for Google Analytics so that you can track your progress. We talk about testing different offers and ad copy, and how to track your results. We also review different conversion options to add to your site. At the end of the day, you'll pick one and implement it.
Week 2
Writing The Compelling Offer
This week we work on writing great ad copy. We'll be working with the book Web Copy That Sells: The Revolutionary Formula for Creating Killer Copy Every Time by Maria Veloso
Week 3
Social Networking
We've all heard about them: Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Plaxo Pulse, and others. But how do we make use of them and how do we stand out when we do so? We'll also talk about Craigslist and how to make the most effective use of it.
Week 4
Blogging and Article Submissions
This week we're going to talk about how to increase traffic through writing. We're going to identify different venues for article submission and discuss ways to compellingly drive people to your site.
Week 5
Video And Audio
This week we discuss the details of video and audio production for the web. This basic primer will give you what you need to get started from what equipment you'll need, to what programs to use to pur it out into the world, to what topics to cover.
Week 6
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
This week is all about how to improve your rankings in the search engines. We'll discuss how to pick appropriate terms to compete for and how to improve your content, links, and meta-tags to support your goal. Want more hits to your site? This is how to get them. We'll check in on our results as well this week. Seeing how our Google Rankings are doing and looking at how many internet leads we've converted.
Week 12
Check In
Then, three months after we've started, we're going to check back in for one last hour-long call. At this time you'll report your results from your analytics and ask any lingering questions that you have about the project.
At the end of the initial six weeks, you'll have a grip on the tools you need to get the results you want. In the following six weeks, you'll work to increase the content you have for your site, get articles published, and improve conversion rates. Then, we'll do a final check in and wrap up.
I know, it seems like a lot to learn - and it is. And even if you only use one thing from this program, you'll improve your bottom line immensely. So what do you say? Do you want to be converting more leads in six weeks or do you want to be right where you are now? The choice is yours.

Each call will be two hours long and will be recorded on the teleconference center bridge line. Students will be provided with a link to the MP3 recording of each call within two days after the call ends.
