Those of you who follow my blog know that I don't talk politics on here. In fact, I usually avoid talking politics altogether. But a friend of mine recently sent me a link to this HBO Documentary about our polling technology for voting called "Hacking Democracy" and after watching it, I am seriously shaken in my belief that we can ever truly believe that our elected officials were actually fairly elected again. I encourage you to take the time to review this documentary. No matter what your party affiliation, it affects you. It is entirely possible that we are living in a country that runs by different principles than we have agreed to. It is the duty of every citizen to be vigilant in defending our form of governance against all incursions - even the quiet insidious ones that are easy to ignore. Freedom comes at the price of vigilance and responsibility. If you are as scared by this as I am, I encourage you to share it with your lists and call your Congressman and Senator to demand an investigation.

Very interesing... Could it be?
I went to a local ACLU event here this week. There were a variety of topics presented. It is clear this election is a sham. It is impossible to have a fair election with our current system and both parties have a vested interest in keeping it that way. If people truly cared about this country everyone would be up in arms about our elections. Instead most people are so stuck into the propaganda permeated from their political party of choice they cant see the truth. It is truly disturbing and I hope some day we can get this country fixed. It certainly wont be this election but if enough people become educated and start making noise, the people running for office will have no choice but to listen. It is the only way. The more people who vote for a 3rd party candidate will in have this effect. The more elections that go to a 3rd party will show they better change something if they want those votes.
I know it may seem like a wasted vote or being forced to vote for the lesser of two evils but it will force a distinction in the candidates because as it is now there is barely any real difference.
